According to the NATPOL survey, over 9 million people in Poland aged 18 to 79 suffer from hypertension. In turn, the POLSENIOR survey has shown that the disease affects approximately one million people over the age of 80. If this trend continues, by 2030 the number of patients with hypertension may increase by half. In response to these disturbing statistics two international organisations launched the May Measurement Month (MMM17), a worldwide screening campaign. May Measurement Month, the largest international campaign for blood pressure measurement will begin in May. This is a global screening campaign initiated by the International Hypertension Association and the World Hypertension League. As part of the campaign, the organisers have set out to test more than 25 million people worldwide, including between 50,000 – 250,000 Poles. The campaign will take place from 1 to 31 May in over 100 countries on all continents. One of the campaign partners in Poland is Medicover.
